Content:
The programme is interdisciplinary and incorporates topics from the fields of social science, pedagogy and religion/ethics. A primary objective is that the programme will contribute to greater understanding, tolerance and dialogue between people with different cultural or religious backgrounds. This will require that students develop their ability to adapt their teaching methods to meet the requirements of children and adolescents from diverse cultures.
The study programme is also designed to give the student experience with field methods. This is primarily achieved through working on a report which will be based on a theme which will be illustrated with data from a school in India.
Courses:
In addition to instruction and study in Norway, the study programme includes a 4-week stay in India, with an introduction to Indian schools and the implementation of a field project/FOU work. During this period, instruction will be provided by teachers from the University in Pune. The working language in India will be English.
