Content:

This is a foundation programme for students who wish to work with sport in education and training. The programme examines a broad spectrum of activities ranging from play, dance and outdoor pursuits to competitive sports, and provides an insight into the importance of sport in relation to society and the individual.

Sport and Society (10 ECTS)
Sport and Pedagogy (10 ECTS)
Sport’s Disciplines (25 ECTS)
Sports Biology and Methods and Principles of Training (15 ECTS)

Teaching and learning methods:

The programme allocates an equal amount of time to both practical and theoretical teaching.

Careers / further study:

Employment may be found in schools, voluntary organisations and public sector etc. The programme may form part of a Bachelor’s degree, and has been approved as a further education programme for teachers, for instance, as the fourth year of General Teacher Education programme. It may also form part of the degree in Specialised Teacher Training in Physical Education and Sports.
