In cooperation with the biotechnological centers in Grenland (Telelab, Bionor, Immuno and Telemark Hospital (YMA)) we have prepared a version of the MSc especially for bio-engineers. This cooperation includes the use of experienced professionals in teaching.

Content:

The course consists of the following components:
• Obligatory component: 3 masters-level courses: Natural Sciences Methods (10 ECTS), Biotechnology (10 ECTS), Genetics (10 ECTS).
• Electives Component: 3 masters-level courses: for example Medical Microbiology & Immunology, Bio-Computer Science, Applied Microbiology, Chemical Interactions and Biological Damage and Statistics in Medical Research. Choice of courses will vary each year.
• MSc thesis (60 ECTS)

Careers / further study:

Graduates are qualified to perform independent tasks within medical laboratory practice.

Teaching and learning methods:

The programme is tailorcut for employed students.The courses are taught intensively, normally over approximately 3-week periods. Course attendance is obligatory in most cases, especially with regard to the laboratory work.
