120 ECTS or higher education within the subject field of folk art or equivalent, with a minimum of 60 ECTS within the subject area of textiles.
This is an extension / specialised course intended for students of design, arts and crafts and folk art as well as textiles artists and craftsmen. The aim of the programme is to provide students with a comprehensive introduction to using the knitting machine as a tool through individual craftwork. Students will be able to exploit the possibilities which a knitting machine offers and use them in complete solutions in the production of clothes and other textiles.
Course components:
• Knitting- and Sewing-Techniques • Drawing • Design Construction • Subject Theory
The main emphasis will be on the first three course components of the course.
Teaching and Learning Methods:
The programme is organised as 6 whole-week sessions. Attendance of the sessions is obligatory. The instruction is organised as lectures, seminars, individual guidance and self-study. It is expected that the students will work with designated tasks between the class sessions. Students must therefore have access to knitting machines which they can work with at home.
