A choice of three different programmes is available. These are described
individually, but have the same code: SO 220 006. The first year of study is common for all three programmes.
Description in programme catalogue:
Programme: Electronics Engineering
Programme: Electrical Power Engineering
Porgramme: Computer Science & Industrial Automation
Content:
This programme provides a broad introduction to the use of IT in process monitoring and regulation: programming; systemisation; databases and networks; and measurement, regulation and control techniques. The programme emphasises the fundamentals of electrical, mechanical and chemical processes; how they may be monitored and controlled with the help of modern computer-based systems; and how programmes are created for these purposes. Students will learn problem solving and structured work methods through working with projects. The various fields of study share common fundamental theory which may be employed in the chemical process industry, robot technology, industrial computer systems, operating systems and programme development, industrial networks, and microprocessor-based control systems. Students may choose supplementary courses in automation or economics and management.
