Course Description

The aim is that the student will:

• Acquire basic knowledge of the structure of the human body, and its development and functions during the life cycle.
• Learn to understand the normal physiological processes and the physiological interaction of organ systems.
• Acquire knowledge and develop an understanding of the interaction between people, the environment and microorganisms.
• Gain knowledge and skills regarding what needs to be done in various acute situations.
• Acquire knowledge regarding medication calculation so as to be able to implement professional medicament treatment.

Course unit 3 - 1- 1 Physiology/Anatomy /Biochemistry

Course unit 3- 1 - 3 Human Ecology

• Human ecological models

Assessment Methods

Main course: 050NAT1 000 Medical and Natural Science subjects Anatomy and Physiology 18 ECTS

6-hour individual, written examination in anatomy, physiology and microbiology (without examination aids). Assessed with a graded mark.

Course unit: 050NAT1 HYG Test in Hygiene and Microbiology

2-hour, individual written test in hygiene (without examination aids). Assessed as pass/fail. The test must be 60% correct in order to be awarded a passing mark.

Course unit: 050NAT1 MED Test in Medication Calculation

2-hour written test in medication calculation.

For the test in medication calculation candidates will be given the opportunity to take the test up to three times during the course of the academic year. In special cases, on the basis of a submitted reasoned application, the Dean may allow a fourth attempt (cf. regulations § 3.4).

The test will be assessed as pass/fail. According to the regulations of the Curriculum, the medication calculation test must be 100% correct before the student may be allowed to commence practice in the specialist health service.

Admission for external candidates

Examination in Main course: 050NAT1 000 Medical and Natural Science Subjects Anatomy and Physiology 18 ECTS is open to external candidates according to the Telemark University College’s regulations regarding external candidates.
