One semester
Prerequisites
According to formal qualifications for the MSc study
Course Objectives
To get basic knowledges about systems theory of dynamic systems and electrical systems
Learning Methods
Web based teaching. Theoretical exercises. Computer exercises. Gatherings with lectures and student presentations of a small project work. Laboratory work.
Course Description
System theory of dynamic systems. Basic circuit theory (electrical circuits). Electronic amplifiers. Basic mathematical modelling of physical processes. State-space models. Transfer function models. Block diagram representations of mathematical models. Time responses. Frequence responses. Poles and zeros. Stability. Simulations (using premade simulators). (The students will learn Matlab, Simulink, and LabVIEW tools in other courses.)
Assessment Methods
Evaluation is based on written final exam (40% weight), intermediate written exam (30%), project work (30%). Participation in the laboratory work is compulsory.
