Sewage/waste water: its quantity and composition, the construction and design of the wastewater system, dimensioning, material choice and execution. Cleaning: the choice of process; mechanical, biological and chemical cleaning and sludge treatment.
Waste management: Quantity of waste, handling methods, associated pollution problems and the requirements of the authorities.
The course grade will be assigned on the basis of a 2-hour mid-term course component examination which counts for 40% and a 3-hour final examination which counts for 60 %. Both examinations will be individual and written; examination aids will be allowed.
