U4192 Economics and G4190 Statistics (or similar)

Course Objectives

Students to gain introductory knowledge in Civil Engineering Project Management, project management techniques, investment finance, project planning and execution.

Learning Methods

Lectures, work in groups/homeworks, guest lecturers and/or field trips.

Course Description

The course consists of the following  topics :

-          Project Management Terminology and phases of a project,
-          Project organization, execution strategies, and project stakeholders
-          Defining project goals and scope of work
-          Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)§         Investment Analysis
-          Planning and execution of projects with respect to time-, resource-, and cost management
-          The Construction Process; a brief introduction to a typical Building Construction Process in Norway

Assessment Methods

Written final examination.
