Already from the first or second semester onwards, students work on a thesis in molecular medicine. The wide range of research expertise among faculty members, and close interaction with clinical environments at St. Olav’s Hospital, mean that the standard of thesis projects is very high and there are opportunities to cover a large variety of subjects. Topics to date have included human genetics, immunology, cancer and DNA repair, microbial genetics, gene expression and nutrition.
