Radio Engineering and Communication

In this main profile you will learn about wireless systems and their circuits and components. Wireless technology within communication, navigation, radar and telemetry is a wide field in rapid development, and it includes everything from card holder systems via wireless local area networks (WLAN) and mobile phone systems (GSM, UMTS), to larger satellite systems. You can also learn how to construct central components that constitute a part of such systems, including low-noise amplifiers, transmitter amplifiers, oscillators, mixing units, filters, switches, and aerials. Today, we experience increased focus on ‘smart’ aerials that can adjust the radiation properties according to sysmte requirements. The Group for Radio Engineering has simulation tools and laboratories for circuit and system engineering that can handle high frequencies up to 50 GHz.
