Work and residence
Work migrants make a positive contribution to the development of the Norwegian society. Norwegian authorities want to facilitate skilled foreign workers to be able work in Norway, a country with a low unemployment rate, high salaries and good working conditions.
Most foreign workers need a permit to work in Norway. Here you may find information on the rules and regulations that apply for the different types of work permits, how you as an employee can apply, and how you as an employer can employ foreign workers.
Please note that separate rules apply for citizens covered by the EU/EEA/EFTA regulations.
