Student Scholarships!

About the project:

Minorities are under hard pressure in many parts of the world. The challenges vary between countries and between regions. Different groups are exposed to different pressures. Problems arise from weak implementation of international norms, both on a national and local level. On this background, the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has established a Minority Project with a focus on religious and belief minorities.

As part of the Ministry's Minority Project there are now funds available for students who wish to write a master's thesis (scope equivalent to 30 or more credits) within this theme. The project is interdisciplinary and students from all Norwegian universities and all relevant disciplines are invited to apply.

The scholarship amount is NOK 35.000. There are two scholarships available.

It is a requirement that the thesis is handed in during either the spring or fall semester of 2014, and that a Norwegian university evaluates the thesis. Desired start is spring 2014.

International Law and Policy Institute (ILPI) is managing the scholarships for the Ministry. Students must be supervised and deliver the thesis within the framework of their own academic institutions. ILPI reserves the right to publish the thesis.
