Master's degree programmes
The University of Bergen has established a number of 2-year Master's degree programmes taught in English and only candidates admitted to these programmes are eligible for financial support by the Quota Scheme.
Please note that some programmes are not offered every year.
New students are admitted every second year to the programmes in Health Promotion and Anthropology of Development (2012, 2014, etc) and Gender and Development (2011, 2013, etc).
Please note that subjects NOT offered at the University of Bergen include:
- Agriculture
- Architecture
- Business Administration and Accounting
- Veterinary Science
- Law studies: The Faculty of Law deals predominantly with the Norwegian legal system, and the professional degree is intended to train lawyers to work in Norway. Law studies require a very good command of the Norwegian language.
PhD - Doctoral Education
Students admitted to a Master's degree programme may qualify for admission to doctoral studies during or upon completion of their master programme. Only rarely are candidates admitted directly to a doctoral degree on the basis of a non-Norwegian degree unless they have an established agreement with the relevant department and have submitted an approved thesis proposal as the major part of the application.
Please note that only applicants from institutions with a formal collaboration with University of Bergen will be elegible for admission under the Quota Scheme
