Welcome to the Bergen Hypertension and Cardiac Dynamics Group
This research group was established in 2013 and focuses on different cardiac imaging methods used on the heart and in different types of experimental and clinical disease.
We study the effects of high blood pressure, overweight, aortic valve stenosis and reduced blood flow to the heart muscle.
The research group works with different imaging methods of the heart, both in clinical and experimental settings with emphasis on echocardiography. Our main fields of interest are hypertensive heart disease, aortic valve stenosis, obesity and ischemic heart disease as well as gender differences in cardiac structure and function.
Professor Eva Gerdts is the group leader, principal investigators are Professor Eva Gerdts and Professor Knut Matre.
