The research area Theoretical Philosophy gathers academic employees, researchers, PhD candidates and students working within the fields of metaphysics and epistemology from a theoretical and problem oriented perspective. Research in this area is especially occupied with metaphysical problems of perception, consciousness and cognition as well as epistemic problems connected to self-knowledge and perception. Several members of the staff also relate these problems to introspection, possible worlds, scientific explanations, theory of science and aesthetics.
