Research at MIC
MIC facilitates a wide range of research within the field of imaging.
Some projects are mainly carried out through MICs equipment whereas other researchers just come by to have a publication picture taken or have sample preparation done at the EM laboratory.
On the pages below you will find examples of research and research projects using MICs different modalities.
-
Prof. Frits Thorsen, Cancer Metastasis Research Group
Bridging multimodal imaging and molecular characterization of melanoma brain metastasis for improved diagnostics and treatment.
-
Prof. Jaakko Saraste, Cellular dynamics and protein transport.
Investigation of the functional organization of biosynthetic-secretory pathway in mammalian cells with special focus on the intermediate compartment (IC) between the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) and the Golgi apparatus.
-
Prof. Arvid Lundervold and Post doc Erlend Hodneland, The Neuroinformatics and Image Analysis Laboratory

-
Prof. Clive Bramham and Adrian Szum, Neuroscience Research Group
Studies of the cellular and molecular mechanisms of long-term synaptic plasticity in the normal brain and dysregulation in brain disorders.
-
Prof. Hrvoje Miletic, Experimental Neuro-oncology & Neuropathology
Our research is focused on human glioblastoma (GBM), the most malignant and frequently occurring primary brain tumor.
