Overview
Focus is on pattern recognition in structural and functional biomedical magnetic resonance images (MRI) and its application in clinical neurology and neurobiological research.
Group Description
Focus is on pattern recognition in structural and functional biomedical magnetic resonance images (MRI) and its application in clinical neurology and neurobiological research. I am also principal investigator on image analysis and physiology in the Bergen fMRI group, member of Locus on Neuroscience at UiB, and the Image Processing Group at the Department of Mathematics, UiB. Our group is participating in EC COST B21 ("Physiological modelling of MR image formation") and a French-Norwegian project in the AURORA programme.
Research Topics
- Image processing (denoising, segmentation, registration, classification, visualization).
- Pattern recognition (multispectral analysis, shape analysis).
- Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) - structural and functional.
- Molecular imaging & Cell imaging
- Physiological modelling
Methods
The research is multidisciplinary and involves mathematical and statistical image
processing methods implemented on Linux and Windows workstations as
well as design of microscopic and macroscopic image acquisition protocols.
