Academic institutions are the backbones of society, providing knowledge and educating young people. Global development challenges affect us all.
As inequalities continue to grow, it is the responsibility of advanced economies and their academic institutions to share their resources and research results. The Bergen academic milieu is committed to rethink the implications of Norway’s position in the world today, emphasizing themes and research that our institutions are already engaged with.
The University of Bergen´s Strategic Plan for 2011-2015 prioritizes high quality research education with emphasis on developing and strengthening thematic areas, across disciplines, to meet global challenges.
In its seventh year, the Bergen Summer Research School (BSRS) is a joint venture under the leadership of the University of Bergen with the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration, Bergen University College, Chr. Michelsen Institute and Uni Research. BSRS is organised by UiB Global.
