Leave of absence and part-time studies
In some situations, you may need to apply for leave of absence or reduced progress for a while.

Examples of conditions that may give grounds for leave of absence:
- Birth and adoption (parental leave)
- Compulsory military service or compulsory civilian national service
- Illness
- Extensive care-giving responsibilities
Part-time studies (reduced progress)
All students admitted to a study programme can apply for reduced progress. There may be conditions attached to when an application can be made and how long the period of reduced progress can be.
