Confirmation (certificate)

Please note that we only confirm information you are registrered with in our student systems.

You can order a certificate when

• authorities in Norway or in your home country require additional documentation of student status. Your faculty can confirm any of the following:
  • examination dates. Please specify which subjects this concerns. Please note that you have to be registered as a student for the current semester.
  • confirmation of exam registration. It is necessary that you are registered as a student for the current semester (that you are enrolled in classes in the courses you have applied for, have payed the semester fee, and have registered for exams).
  • dates for when the semester starts/finishes
  • leave of absence
• you need to postpone military service

You already have confirmation of the following

• Student status – the semester card confirms that you are a student this semester and that you have paid the semester fee.
• Results of your examinations – Transcript of grades confirms your results (course, semester, credits and grade).
• Degree – diploma confirms the degree
• Start and end of the semester. You will find the academic calendar on our website
• The Norwegian State Educational Loan Fund automatically receives the results and student status from UiO.

Student ticket at Ruter

Please note that if you want to buy a student ticket at Ruter (with student discount) before you have received your semester card, you can show the front page of your StudentWeb for confirmation. Either by using your phone or a printout of a screenshot. For the latter you will also need to show your credentials. Remember to register for courses and pay the semester fee.

• Renewal of residence permit: Order your progress report when applying for renewal of residence permit
• Quota students:  Request for certificate (This request form is aimed at current Quota- students and scholarship students. Current international students on exchange or a degree program (Bachelor or Master) in need of a general student status certificate, please contact your faculty.
• Learning agreements and confirmation of Erasmus+ exchange
