It's All Text is an Firefox extension to edit textareas using an external editor (vim or Emacs or whatever you prefer). I prefer Aquamacs on my MacBook. You should use the following path for Aquamacs in the preferences of It's All Text:
/Applications/Aquamacs Emacs.app/Contents/MacOS/Aquamacs Emacs
This text is written in Aquamacs when editing my blog through a form with Firefox. [via]
Update: I actually changed the path above to /usr/local/bin/emacs since this is the where I've installed the script found here.

jQuery is a fast, concise, JavaScript Library that simplifies how you traverse HTML documents, handle events, perform animations, and add Ajax interactions to your web pages. The philosophy is find things (e.g. $("a") to find links) and do stuff (e.g. $("a").click(...) to do something when clicking links). For me it seems to a nice way of developing JavaScript (Ajax) based applications. The OO feel is good, and it is easy to write compact and readable code. It is also well documented, and Learning jQuery is a nice place for other jQuery resources. A jQuery reference widget is also available. I might post more when I've actually tried it (the Live Examples of jQuery seems to be a nice place to start). [via]
Update: Interface is a collection of rich interface components which utilizes jQuery. [via]

RIA (Rich Internet Application) are web applications that have the features and functionality of traditional desktop applications. (At JavaOne) Sun revealed JavaFX (used to be F3) a new Java technology for desktop, mobile, web, and TVs, and its latest push into RIA world. The most interesting application from the JavaFX family in this context is maybe JavaFX Script, a new scripting language that gives Java developers the power to quickly create content-rich applications for the widest variety of clients (see announcement).
From Microsoft we got Silverlight (more), a cross-browser, cross-platform plug-in for delivering the next generation of Microsoft .NET–based media experiences and rich interactive applications for the Web. Silverlight 1.1 supports CLR (see Dynamic Code in Silverlight). Jesse Liberty discuss Silverlight in more details, and Ted Leung talks about CLR (and Linq) embedded in Silverlight.
I've no experience with JavaFX, but I've installed Silverlight on my Mac and tried some demos in Safari. Works, but currently no development support on the Mac. [via, via]
Update: I planned to, but forgot to mention Adobe's approach, Adobe Flex.
