A description on how to remove the calendar from the SimpleBlog blog portlet
SimpleBlog has a blog portlet (see right column) that includes a calendar. To remove it locate the file portlet_simpleblog.pt in the directory Products/SimpleBlog/skins/SimpleBlog of your Zope installation. Remove the following line from that file:
<div metal:use-macro="here/SimpleBlog_macros/macros/portletCalendar"/>
Restart Zope and then calendar is gone.
