Windows printer from Mac OS X

This document gives a good description on how to use a printer attached to a Windows XP computer from Mac OS X:

If you have installed Service Pack 2 on your Windows XP computer some minor adjustments have to be done. The firewall will block port 515. You should add this to the exception list: (i) select Manage security settings for Windows Firewall in the Security Center, (ii) select the exception tab, (iii) add port 515 (tcp).
