Python on your Mac?
Python supports the mac platform, but the easiest way to install it on your mac is to download the installer from this source. On Tiger (10.4) you should install this fix (look for TigerPython24Fix) after the above package is installed. On the mac you might want to install PyObjC, too (available at this link). The PyObjC installer will also install py2app. The Python distribution above includes Tkinter support, but you are using Mac OS X 10.3 have to install Tcl/Tk Aqua to make it actually work (10.4 includes Tcl/Tk Aqua, but remember to use pythonw for python scripts with GUI). wxPython is included in 10.4 (with Python 2.3.5 at /usr/bin/python), but you have to install a new version for Python 2.4.1 (see osx-ansi-py2.4 for Panther, it should work for Tiger, too). PyQT is another GUI package for Python. A binary package for Tiger is avilable, but this only works with Python 2.3.5 (Python shipped with Tiger). PythonMac is a good source for information about Python on your Mac.
