Crashed HD and music only on your iPod?
Several tools can save your day. iPodRip looks promissing ($15). Also avialble for windows. The iPod Music Liberator is another option. It is also both Mac and Windows, but it supports Linux too.
Update: Recently (today is December 27 2005) I have had more success with CopyPod (on Windows) than iPodRip. iPodRip hangs forever on my Widows computer when I try to move my music library from my Mac to my PC via my iPod.
