Ruby is a programming language I have planned to take a closer look on for years
Now it is time to do it. Some references: its home page, a short what's Ruby, an informative article by Yukihiro "Matz" Matsumoto, the creator of Ruby, an introduction to programming in Ruby, an introduction to Ruby for Mac Os X, The Ruby Coca Framework (a framework for Mac OS X that allows Cocoa programming in Ruby), the Ruby Application Archive (RAA), and the new site Ruby Code & Style [via].
Ruby is distributed with Mac OS X (at least in 10.2, 10.3 and 10.4), so on your Mac you can start using it right away. If you want to use the Coca features of your Mac in Ruby, you should install RubyCoca (see above).
