I decided to play with Django, but first I had to install it

I went to the Django home page, and then jumped to the install page. I decided to use PostgreSQL as my database, but I downloaded and installed this Mac distribution of it. The Python bindings to this database is psycopg. This was not straightforward to compile and install, but Compiling PostgreSQL and Psycopg 1.1.9 on Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger gave me all the information I needed.

Update: PostgreSQL for Mac is an alternative to Postgres SQL distriburtion for Mac mentioned above. [via]
