Mail Act-On

Mail lacks a simple method of organizing messages based on user-defined keystrokes. Mail Act-On is a plugin for Apple's Mail in that allows you to map specific mail rules or actions to "Act-On" keys. When viewing mail you can apply the "Act-On" action for a message by making simple keystrokes. MailTags is another nice mail plugin from indev.

Update: MailTags is actually not userfriendly enough, but it might be soon. Ethan Kaplan, the Director of Technology for Warner Brothers Records, has pointed out what is missing, and Scott Morrison, the developer of MailTags, promises to fix this in the next release. [via]

Update: Get Control of Your Inbox Using Apple's Mail, MailTags & MailActOn is a terrific post on using MailTags and Mail Act-on to stay on top of your email. [via]

Update: MailRecent is another nice Mail.app plugin to move or copy (refile) messages. [via]
