Organization

The international semester focuses on aesthetic subjects. Students have classes in music, dance, and drama with the aim of creating an intercultural performance and reflecting theoretically on these subjects as important social activities both in a local and in a global context. The subjects are fused together in practical educational settings and theoretical seminars and lectures. Much of the content and activities in the international semester are therefore interdisciplinary.  The semester also includes a module on cultural understanding, which focuses on theoretical issues like globalization, migration, and multiculturalism. The course is a combination of lectures, seminars, workshops and project work. Each student will get qualified in performing different types of music, dance, and drama activities, and to use this knowledge in an educational setting. All the modules have a strong focus on didactical issues, which includes how to practice drama, dance and, music in different cultural settings.
The international semester is organized as a full time semester course starting mid February and ending with exams in June. Classes are given weekly at regular hours over a period of twelve weeks followed by a two week exam period.
