The NorStore SLA covers the installation of NorStore hardware. The hardware should be installed as the following:
The hardware installation
- The disk system shall be installed by or under supervision of a vendor representative
- The file servers shall be installed after NorStore agreed upon OS configuration
- ...
- The installation is not complete until extensive hardware testing has been performed
The middle ware installation
The NorStore installation heavily depends on the chosen shared file system: GPFS. An important part of the NorStore resource installation is to get GPFS installed, configured and tested.
- Installation of GPFS following NorStore agreed upon GPFS configuration
- Creation of LUNs following NorStore agreed upon LUN configuration
- Creation of NSDs following NorStore agreed upon NSD configuration

- The installation is not complete until extensive GPFS testing has been performed
Environmental constraints
- The disk racks and servers shall be installed and operated in a room built to house computer equipment
- Each SUN ST 6540 is to be connected to 2x16A@220V redundant (UPS/generator) power and to 2x16A@220V non-redundant power
- This arrangement is to secure redundant power in case of power outage
- A fire extinguishing system and routines shall be in operation
- Only machine room shall be a restricted area
- It must be possible to connect NorStore servers to a UNINETT 10Gbit infrastructure
