Norstore pending tasks

USIT has made a choice to support the national storage facility, NorStore, and to fulfill this role, there are some requirements:

Contract with UNINET Sigma / NorStore

Issues that have to be settled in the NorStore contract between UiO and UNINETT Sigma:

  • Financing:
  • What is the in-kind and site owned storage percentage?
  • For how many years is the UNINETT Sigma funded position guaranteed (2-3 years would ease the process to get a qualified person)
  • How many course days will UNINETT Sigma cover?
  • The one day included coursing will be too little if we want to gain full insight into the operations of the hardware and SUNs tools. I think one or two extra course days would be beneficial.
  • What kind of SLA do UNINETT Sigma want? Do Sigma want the universities to come up with a suggestion?
  • More (Kjetil: Hva bør med?)?
  • Ask Jacko for a contract draft mail sent - Morten
  • The contract issue has been discussed in UNINETT Sigma board meeting and Jacko is writing on a contract text
