Eduroam using Windows with Intel PROset
If you wish to use Eduroam we would recommend using the built-in Windows network controller instead of Intel PROset Wireless.
You can do this by right-clicking the Intel PROset Wireless
icon that you'll find down to the right on your task bar and choose "Use Windows to Manage Wi-Fi".
You can read this guide to use Eduroam in Windows XP.
You may have to activate Wireless Zero Configurations for this to work. You do this by pressing Start-menu -> Run and then type services.msc.
In the list that shows up, scroll down to Wireless Zero Configuration, right-click and press Start.
Latest version of Intel PROset
If you want to use Intel PROset Wireless you should make sure you have the latest version, earlier versions does not work well with WPA.
First you should check what network card you are using. You can do this by going to Start-menu -> Control panel -> Network Connections. Here you right-click on your wireless connection and choose Properties. You will then get a window that looks like the one below, the network card you have is listed in the box Connect using.
You can then go to here and type the number for your network card into the search field. (e.g. 3945). Then click your network card from the list and chose your operating system. You will then see a lot of files you can download, the one you need to choose is Software Applications and download "Intel® PROSet/Wireless Network Connection Software".
Configuring Eduroam
Double-click the Intel PROset Wireless
icon down to the right.
You will then get a window with a list over available networks you can connect to.
Click eduroam and Connect.
You will then get a window similar to the picture below. This window should be filled out in advance, so just leave everything as it is. Click Next.

- Network authentication to WPA2 - Enterprise

- Authication type to PEAP
- Authentication Protocol to MS-CHAP-V2
- Username to yourbrukernavn@ntnu.no (It's important that you include @ntnu.no behind your user name)
