STATOIL: gullfaks

Key components: Generic framework for predictive maintenance control based on condition monitoring of oil and gas facilities; Methods for aggregating information to support vital operational decisions and integrated planning; Collaborationworkflows and support tools for optimal planning.

3.1

Generic Framework for Predictive Maintenance Control

Objectives/deliverables

To develop knowledge, methods and demonstrators for:

  • Data and information validation
  • Degradation mechanisms
  • Lifetime and performance prediction
    and
  • to develop a test bench for commercial systes

Application of results

  • A test bench for Predictive maintenance methods and tools to be used offshore

Requirements for next generation of Early Fault detection systems and data validation system

Potential effect for improved field operation

  • Reduced costs through improved maintenance
  • Improved data and information validation is a prerequisite for most decision support systems in use or under development

Deliverables 2007
These reports and other deliverables will available on the sub-project page (3.1) , when completed.

  • Report and presentation: Data and information validation – Survey of real-time methods
  • Report: Requirement specification for early fault detection and performance monitoring system demonstration
  • Report: Real-time data for research on Predictive maintenance control– Feasibility
  • Report and presentation: Degradation models for static equipment - Survey
  • Report and presentation: Performance monitoring of rotating equipment – Survey
  • Report and presentation: Lifetime and performance prediction (LPP) – Survey
  • Report: Avaliability of failure data for LPP models – Case study

3.2

Condition Monitoring (CM) of Oil & Gas Facilities

Objectives/deliverables

  1. A brief analysis of the incidence and frequency of equipment degradation and failure shall be carried out. This analysis will cover facilities from well-head to facility export flange.
  2. Propose and gather concensus on the areas with the greatest potential for adding value through condition monitoring (i.e. produced fluid: oil, gas, .., injected fluid: water, gas, CO2, .., systems/equipment types)
  3. Models, methods, techniques and/or tools for condition monitoring of selected oil & gas (O&G) facilities (possibly both surface and subsea).

Application of results
The results shall be applicable to maintenenance, and possibly beneficial for optimized operation of O&G facilities.

Potential effect for improved field operation

  • Cost reduction

Deliverables 2007
These reports and other deliverables will be availible on the sub-project page (3.2), when completed.

  • Analysis of failure/degradation incidence /frequency: - Presentation / Report
  • Work-scope optimisation: - Presentation / Report
  • Project Scope Activities: - Presentations / Reports

3.3

Integrated Planning

Objectives/deliverables
A fully Integrated Planning process for offshore operators, which encompasses both the Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) for maintenance and the Operations Logistics Support (OLS) for demand / supply chain management.

Application of results
The whole value chain of offshore operations and maintenance, including drilling, production and process

Potential effect for improved field operation

  • Cost reduction
  • IOR

Deliverables 2007
These reports and other deliverables will be availible on the sub-project page (3.3) , when completed.

  • Build up an IOLS collaboration room. Facility

  • Planning ICD per discipline. Reports
  • IOL Planning process. Report

3.4

CORD Support

Objectives/deliverables

Coordination of the CORD activities on condition monitoring of valves and separators:

  • Testing of available technologies for detecting and monitoring internal leakages on ESD valves.
  • Development of monitoring method for wellhead valves.
  • Development of condition monitoring methods for separator internals (microwave, acoustics, gamma radiation)

Application of results
Inspection and maintenance planning for valves and separators

Potential effect for improved field operation

  • Cost reduction; less downtime
  • HSE

Deliverables 2007
These reports and other deliverables will availible on the sub-project page (3.4) , when completed.

  • Management reports on testing methods for ESD valves and wellhead valves and for separators
