The Faculty of Natural Sciences and Technology is an international arena for research and education in the natural sciences, environmental science, biotechnology, chemistry, physics, materials and chemical engineering.
We offer several programmes of study with integrated MSc degrees in physics and mathematics, chemistry, biotechnology, materials technology and nanotechnology. Other educational options at the faculty are 3-year BSc and 2-year MSc degree programmes in the natural sciences in chemistry, physics, biology and biotechnology. In addition there are three MSc programmes that taught in English. We also have a PhD programme in all these disciplines.
The research programmes at the faculty are at the international leading edge. Some are part of NTNU’s own priority areas for research, others are cooperative projects in partnership with domestic or international industry, the public sector, SINTEF, part of the European framework programmes, or in cooperation with other international partners. New research areas are functional genome research, nanotechnology and new materials.
