Dynamic population information

This is a new section that is under development. The plan is to publish it some time in spring/summer 2009.

In this section you will find extensive information about different populations that go beyond the official status reports that are given at the PBSG meetings. As a beginning there will be information on 3 populations: Barents Sea, Southern Beaufort and Western Hudson Bay. There will be information about: 

  • Sea ice and snow cover (maps showing day-to-day ice coverage and aggregated historic data)
  • Trend information (where available)
  • Life history information (where available)
  • Pollution information (where available)
  • Catch information (where available)
  • Research effort (where available)
  • Status history

The information given will be a mix of information already published and unpublished material from each jurisdiction. with the aim to give a more in-depth knowledge about each population. This will hopefully give the reader a feel for how the status of the population evolves, and the constant effort made within most jurisdictions to produce more updated and exact knowledge.
