Linguistic tools
Computational tools are a prerequisite for virtually any language technological application. Such tools simplify and automatise the analysis and processing of linguistic data, e.g. by splitting a text into sentences, analysing the sentence at various levels, filtering non-textual elements, etc. We have developed a number of such tools, including the following:
  • Corpus-linguistic tools for concordances and statistics
  • Tools for filtrering og normalising web texts
  • Grammatical tagger for annotation of word class, morphological, syntactic and stilistic features (The Oslo-Bergen tagger)
  • Lexical tools for generating and processing word lists and terminological databases
  • Name recogniser
  • Tool for alignment of parallel texts in multilingual corpora
  • Tool for alignment of text and sound in spoken corpora
  • Spelling and grammar checker
