Herb and Spice garden
 |
| Herbs and medicinal plant collection |
|
The Herbal garden, partly constructed on the pattern of ancient monastery gardens, contains a wide selection of plants within the major sections of medicinal herbs, spices, poisonous plants, plants for dyeing, aromatic plants, aphrodisiacs and plants connected to witchcraft in earlier centuries.
Here are also found plants which can be used for salads, soups and tea, such as a wide selection of mints and onions.
Of special interest is a collection of wild growing herbs from North Norway based on the research project "The use of plants in North Norwegian womens tradition".
