FIL-2002: Rhetoric and Society Work Load 10 credits (ECTS) | Objectives This is a free choice within the bachelor degree studies in Philosophy. In addition, the subject works well in combination with media studies and political science subjects. | Contents The relationship between philosophy and rhetoric has at times been influential and confrontational, imbued with antagonism and struggle, but also with reciprocal help and support. It sometimes seems like a Strindbergian marriage, in which the two lay waste to one another in reciprocal hate and affection. The purpose of this subject is to develop a specific understanding of this centuries-old ambivalence. Another central theme is that of rationality in public contexts and changes in conditions for enlightened debate.
