The course is based on previous knowledge of mathematics and physics corresponding to the levels MAT-1001 Calculus 1 and FYS-0100 General physics or 3FY from the Norwegian High School. The students will be given an introduction to the mode of operation and application of semi-conductor components within analog integrated circuits. After having completed the subject, the students will be able to plan, build and characterize simple analog measuring and control circuits. In addition, the course will give a sufficient background to make the students capable of understanding the mode of operation and application of more complicated electronic circuits and measuring instruments. The subject includes circuits and analysis methods of circuits, operational amplifiers, diodes, bipolar transistors, MOS transistors with application in amplifier design and filter design. Exercises will be emphasized.
