Chief Safety Delegate
The University of Tromsø is divided in seven main protection areas, each with their chief safety delegate. The chief safety delegate is chosen from safety delegates or others with experience of positions of trust at the University. The chief safety delegates have as duty to coordinate the activities of the safety delegates in their own area. A representative of the chief safety delegates is a member of AMU, the Work Environment Committee.
The chief safety delegate's tasks are described in the Norwegian pages of the work environment act "arbeidsmiljøloven " Ch. VI and in the regulations on safety delegates and the work environment committee "Forskrift om verneombud og arbeidsmiljøutvalg".
