INF-3700 Database systems 2

Contents This course covers principles used for design of important building blocks of database management systems, notably storage structure and management, transaction management and query processing.

Form of teaching Lectures: 30, Colloquium: 30, Laboratory: 30 The coursework includes up to 3 written assignments graded Pass/Fail. Oral presentation of the assignments and demonstration of a working system can be claimed. Approved assignments give access to the final written exam.

Compulsory teaching 3 assignments

Assessment Spring or Fall exam. 4 hours final exam graded by letter A-F. The overall grade for the course is determined 100% by the final exam.

Examination semester Autumn

Date(s) of written examination 13.12.2005 The exam date is preliminary and may be subject to change. Definitive exam date will be announced on the notice boards at the faculties in the beginning of May for the spring semester and in the beginning of November for the autumn semester.
