Programmes in Computer Science
Computer science is a field created by human beings to help us in our daily lives. Therefore it does not just involve technology but also recognising the needs people have and employing our science to that end. It is very important that more women choose computer science and on the basis of their values set the premises for the development of information technology.
On the introductory courses you start at a level that does not require prior knowledge of computing. The courses at higher levels are connected to research within the department. This gives the student a solid grounding in those themes that are taken up. If you take the initiative, the project at the end of your programme can be adapted to your particular interests and you will have been able to make best use of your creative abilities whilst taking the programme. You will get the opportunity to experiment a great deal with design, construction and testing.
The programme is oriented towards the business world with subsidiary courses in economics and project management, innovation, management and languages. A study sabbatical is built into the programme should you wish to take advantage of it.
After graduation you will be extremely attractive in the jobs market - internationally as well. The majority of graduates with a master’s degree in computer science work as systems developers, engineers, researchers or consultants. Many have management positions or found a company themselves.
Does this sound interesting and exciting? Then the computer science programme is for you!
The Department offers degree programmes at several levels and of varying lengths:
