What do we do in the Department of Information?

The Department of Information has the overall responsibility for all internal and external communication and information from/at the University of Tromsø. The department’s main task is to work to ensure communication becomes a means to support the university’s strategic aims.

The department is responsible for all external communication initiatives from the university, including initiatives directed at the Ministry of Education and Research, student recruitment and the general public. Internal information is mainly distributed via the university’s web site. The Department of Information also has the overall responsibility to develop and manage the university’s graphic profile.

An important area of responsibility is to inspire and take a leading role in distributing information about the university’s research efforts and relationship building.

The Department of Information can offer diverse specialist advice in strategic communication. The department also offers graphics services, printed information in many different languages, transparencies on the university and a variety of gift and profile products.
