Classification continued (Icelandic). Identification of structure for each class (tests: adverbs, floating quantifiers). Investigation of verb movement possibilities (Icelandic and Northern Norwegian). Determination of prototype verbs for each class. Construction of test sentences for Faroese and Danish.

Classification of infinitivals in Norwegian and Icelandic with regard to the properties described in Wiklund (thesis). Discussion of results.

As of the spring semester 2006 there is a group at the University of Tromsø working specifically on the syntax of infinitivals across Scandinavian varieties. The group is led by Postdoctoral Fellow Anna-Lena Wiklund.
