The NORASIA IV conference 2006, the fourth Norwegian Asia-conference, will be held at Sundvolden hotel, Ringerike.
Network for Asian studies will organise the NORASIA IV-Conference 2006:
Legal Pluralism, Conflicts and Human Rights in Asia
During the days September 8-10 2006
Please see the Conference web-pages.
The conference is open for people in Norway who are working on Asia either trough research, studies or in organsitations/management. One of the main aims of the conference is that it reflects the plurality of Norwegian research on Asia. Masterstudents and phd- candidates are therefore provided with the opportunity of presenting their work. We call on researchers to organise in small panel debates and workshops. Several well-known researchers will participate, such as Marc Galanter (University of Wisconsin) and Keebet von Brenda-Beckmann (Halle).
The conference fee is 500 NOK and covers board and lodging.
The conference is free for students. Up to fifteen students from areas outside of Oslo will be given travel support of the amount of 1000 NOK.
Registration deadline is August 15th 2006
