Education offered
- programmes, course combinations and singular courses

The Faculty of Social Sciences offers programmes, courses and course combinations at bachelor`s and master`s level. It takes 3 years to complete a bachelor`s degree and an additional 2 yeras to complete a master`s degree. We also offer an integrated master`s degree in teacher training, which takes 5 years. Apart from degree programmes, we offer course combinations, which usually include 1 - 2 semesters of study. Both our programmes of study and the course combinations have curricula with both compulsory and elective courses.

You will find further information about all our courses by following the links to the left.

The Faculty of Social Sciences offers two kinds of programmes: Disciplinary programmes, such as sociology or history, and interdisciplinary programmes, such as the Master`s Programme in Indigenous Studies. Both are offerend at bachelor`s and master`s levels.

  • A completed bachelor`s degree in a disciplinary programme qualifies for admission to the master`s level within the same discipline. All programmes consist of compulsory and elective courses, and students may choose to take up to 60 ETCS credits in other disciplines, in order to give ther education plan an individual profile.

The interdisciplinary programmes usually include more compulsory courses and less elective courses. Thes eprogrammes forcus on a certain issue or theme and consist of courses from different disciplines, such as the Bachelor`s Programme in Russian Studies.

If you do not want to enrol for a programme of study, leading to a degree, you can choose between one-year programmesand courses. Courses are usually credited with 10 or 20 ETCS credits and each course has its own examination. Course combinations are a given set of courses and you will find that the same courses and combinations also are part of our programmes of study.
