Fields of research
Robert T. Barrett's main research interests are long-term studies of seabird populations in the southern Barents Sea (including diet, chick growth, breeding success and population dynamics of Rissa tridactyla, Uria aalge, Alca torda, Fratercula arctica and Morus bassanus) in relation to changes in stocks of the main prey species (herring Clupea harengus, capelin Mallotus villosus and sand eels Ammodytes sp.). He is also interested in the phenology of the spring migration of birds to North Norway.
Trond Elling Barstad, reseach fellow in entomology (2007-2011): ecology of sawflies in northern Norway (Hymenoptera, Tenthredinidae).

Karl Frafjord is working on the conservation of the arctic fox, biogeography in shrews, population studies of water voles, and on the ecology and behaviour of the northern bat.
Kirstin Janssen, research fellow (NFR) in ecology: "Genetic basis and evolution of ventral plumage melanism in skuas (Stercorariidae).
Arne C. Nilssen has concentrated much of his recent research on the ecology of reindeer warble and bot flies Hypoderma tarandi and Cephenemyia trompe (Oestridae), bark beetles (Scolytidae), and forest defoliators Epirrita autumnata and Operophtera brumata (Geometridae).
Kjetil Sagerup, research fellow in ecology (2004-2008): chemical pollution in sea birds.
Anne Helene Tandberg, research fellow in taxonomy (2005-2009): "A taxonomic revision and phylogenetic analysis of the amphipod genus Metopa (Stenothoidae)"
Wim Vader's main research field is in amphipod taxonomy and the biology of associated amphipods, but his interests also include seabirds, intertidal biology and terrestrial molluscs.
