About BCCS

The Bergen Center for Computational Science (BCCS) is a department of UNIFOB AS, affiliated with the University of Bergen.

BCCS initiates and administrates externally financed research projects with special emphasis on Computational Science.

BCCS consists of a common administration and 4 research groups. These groups share significant needs for computational resources, methods, algorithms, and software. A main objective of BCCS is to exploit the synergies between its groups and boost cross-disciplinary activity.

BCCS Units:

• The Bergen Computational Physics Laboratory (BCPL) is primarily engaged in computational physics, especially in the field of reaction modeling.
• The Computational Mathematics Unit (CMU) is primarily engaged within hydrodynamics and geophysics.
• The Computational Biology Unit (CBU) performs research, services, and training in bioinformatics focused on functional genomics.
• The high performance computing laboratory (Parallab), focuses on high performance computing, parallelisation, distributed programming and algorithms.
