The section for Molecular Biology and Biotechnology(MBB)
The section for Molecular Biology and Biotechnology (MBB) consists of four research groups, of which three are located in the new Science building at Gløshaugen and one at Plant Biocentre at Dragvoll. Research activities cover a broad range, from plant biology, immunology and drug targeting, and population genetics to space research. Based on the section's research and competence, teaching and education is related to the fields of cell and molecular biology, genetics and molecular genetics, evolution and population genetics, cell biology, immunology, and molecular imaging. The unifying goal of our research is to understand molecular function and evolution, cellular processes, and to understand how molecular processes integrate with processes acting on individuals in their environments.
